Funeral services for Mrs. Harry (Myra) Glaser, 87, who died Sunday in Maquoketa, will be held at 2 PM Tuesday in the Haylock-O’Hara Funeral Home. Rev. Jack Paget of the Assembly of God Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
Myra Keeley was born June 30, 1880 in Maquoketa the daughter of Francis and Charity Tubbs Keeley. She married Harry Glaser on Nov 26, 1923 in Maquoketa.
Mrs. Glaser is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Madeline Schurbon and Mrs. UrusalLuett, both of Maquoketa; two sons, Aubrey of Maquoketa and Glen of Dubuque; two sisters, Mrs. Sybil Romer and Mrs. Iona Wilson, both of Maquoketa; six grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and three brothers.
Note: Information obtained from newspaper clipping obtained from my Grandmother, Alice Mummert. I have the original in my possession. There is no date on the clipping. Myra died on July 9, 1967. The information I have on Myra says she was married in 1903 not 1923, so I’m not sure if this was just a typo at the time. Her middle name was Lenora. Her daughter’s name Urusal may also be a typo on the obit, as I have her as Ursula. Her son Glen I have listed as Gerald Glen Glaser.
