MRS. E. SCHAPER IS SUMMONED
Death Occurred Wednesday Evening Following Stroke of Paralysis
Mrs. Elizabeth Schaper who suffered a stroke of paralysis three weeks ago passed away at her home on north Second street on Wednesday evening at 7:30 o'clock in the 73d year of age.
Deceased was born in Bellevue township, February 16, 1844, a daughter of Henry and Catherine Ernst. She was united in marriage with Henry Schaper in 1862, and is survived by the following sons and daughters: Mrs. George Winter of Germania; T. C. Schaper of Norwalk; Mrs. B. J. Cromwell of Hanover, Ill; Mrs. W. E. Jones of Seattle, Wash.; Henry of Grand Forks, N. D.; Mrs. E. M. Rehard of Winterset; Mrs. Chas. Stuart, Mrs. Fred Goetz, William, George, Charles and Ida of Bellevue. She also leaves a brother, Henry Ernst of Bellevue, a sister Mrs. Geo. Nye of Ada, Minn., step-brother John Burcheding, and half-sister Anna C. Ernst.
Mrs. Schaper had resided in this city for sixteen years and her great concern in life seemed to be the welfare and happiness of those she held dear. As neighbor and friend she was highly esteemed.
She was a member of the Lutheran church and funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 from the house and 2:00 at the church.
