Mr. George Ernst, whose death we briefly chronicled last week was born in Bellevue township in 1858, was in his 25th year at the time of his death on the 9th of this month. He had suffered form poor health from his birth. He, however, grew to manhood and was very ambitious and industrious. In fact, he hastened his death by hard work and exposure in his efforts to become wealthy. He was married to Miss Bannick, an ???imable young lady, Dec 23, 1881, but she died last April, and since then George saw no rest, health or peace of mind. He retained his strong will and consciousness to the last and made a manful and even desperate struggle with the king of terrors for dear life. His untimely death is greatly mourned by his relatives and many friends. (Bellevue Leader - 18 Jan 1883 - Thursday)
