BELLEVUE, Iowa - Edwin N. Sprank, 74, of Mill Valley Care Center, Bellevue, formerly of 303 S. Second St., Bellevue, died at 6:25 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, 1997, at the care center.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., Dubuque, where friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery, Bellevue, where military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Rev-eille Post 273, of Bellevue.

Mr. Sprank was employed by the Army Corps of Engineers for 33 years, retiring from Lock and Dam 12 at Bellevue on Jan. 2, 1988.

He was born on Dec. 10, 1922, near Springbrook, son of Nicholas and Anna (Monner) Sprank. He married Alice C. Steines on June 21, 1952, at First Presbyterian Church, Bellevue.

He was a World War II Army veteran, having served in the Pacific Theater. He was a former trustee of First Presbyterian Church, Bellevue; a member of the American Legion Reveille Post 273, of Bellevue; and a former member of the Bellevue Golf and Country Club.

Surviving are his wife, Alice C. Sprank; a son, Bill (Janeane) Trute, of Walkertown, N.C.; a daughter, Karen Chesterman, of Dubuque; five grandchildren, Lisa (Charles) Peele, Roger (Bettylou) Trute, Lori Trute, David (Coleen) Chesterman and John Chesterman; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Florence Manderscheid, of Maquoketa, and Mrs. Rosetta Kilburg, of Bellevue.

An Edwin N. Sprank Memorial Fund has been established.
