Deceased Name: Hildegard C. Monner

BELLEVUE, Iowa - Hildegard C. Monner, 80, of Bellevue, died Monday evening, May 16, 2005, at Mill Valley Care Center, Bellevue, following a lengthy illness with cancer.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellevue, with the Rev. Stephen Meyer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Kingery Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bellevue.

She was born on June 22, 1924, in Dickeyville, Wis., daughter of Leonard and Ragena (Ames) Dietzel. She attended school near Dickeyville.

After her marriage to Cyril J. Monner on Oct. 20, 1943, the couple farmed south of Bellevue, until retiring and moving to town in 1974. Cyril preceded her in death on Sept. 23, 1987.

Hilda was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

She enjoyed crocheting, taking walks and spending time with her family.

Surviving are three sons, Eugene L. (Jean Aureden) Monner and Ronald J. (Mary M. Lenarz) Monner, both of Bellevue, and Kenneth J. (Rochelle Newman) Monner, of Tacoma, Wash.; a daughter, Ruth A. (Lonnie) Brooks, of Savanna, Ill.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Bies, of Bellevue, and Rosella Casper, of Cuba City, Wis.; and three brothers, Joseph Dietzel and Edmund (Melinda) Dietzel, both of Dickeyville, and Arnold (Marie) Dietzel, of Cuba City.

She also was preceded in death by her parents.
