Deceased Name: MARCELLA E. KUETER

Services for Marcella E. Kueter, 81, 2714 Washington St., will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Ghost Catholic Church.

Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Gene Siegert & Son Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, where there will be a Holy Ghost Parish Christian wake service at 4:30 p.m.

Mrs. Kueter was employed at Loras College and later at the former Xavier Hospital before her retirement. Following retirement, she was a seamstress for many Dubuque families.

She was born on April 30, 1916, in Orleans, Neb., daughter of Peter and Elizabeth (Berendes) Hoxmeier. She lived in Dubuque most of her life. She died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 1997, at home.

She married Maurice Kueter on Dec. 31, 1940, at Orleans; he died on April 1, 1970.

She enjoyed crafts and card playing and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She was a member of Holy Ghost Parish.

Surviving are two daughters, Kay (Gary) Gansemer, of Dubuque, and Kathy (Dan) Link, of Barrington, Ill.; three sons, Bill (Jan) Kueter, of Durango, Iowa, Bob (Linda) Kueter, of Dubuque, and Jerry (Deb) Kueter, of Durango; 17 grandchildren, Carri, Becky, Jim, Joe, David, Amy, Andrew, Chris, Nick, Rachael, Tracy, Jill, Susie, Greg, Bob, Steve and Jeff; two great-grandchildren, Morgan and Taylir; a sister, Clara Klein, of Hastings, Neb.; and two brothers, Arnold Hoxmeier, of Long Beach, Calif., and George Hoxmeier, of Napa, Calif.

She also was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Chuck and Nicole.
