PRESTON, Iowa - Devon Thomas Yaddof, 18, of Preston, Iowa, died at home, Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, following a short bout with cancer. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Preston. The Rev. Greg Geier of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church of Preston, will officiate. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery. Visitation for Devon will be Thursday, Nov. 11, from 3 to 9 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Preston. Memorials may be given to the Devon Yaddof Scholarship Fund.

Devon was born July 5, 1986, in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada, the son of Tom (Rose) Yaddof of Preston and Sheila Frommelt of Blue Grass, Iowa.

Devon was a senior at Preston High School. He was active in the Student Council and 250/500 Weightlifting Club. Devon was Prom Prince in Spring 2004 and Homecoming King Fall 2004. He was first team district football, basketball and baseball, and was All State in track. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and was an avid pro-sports fan, especially of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Devon will be deeply missed by his parents and step-parent; one sister, Cortney, of Davenport; two stepbrothers, Cody and Michael Frommelt, of Dubuque, Iowa; two stepsisters, Jelle and Alea Frommelt, of Dubuque; paternal grandparents Carol and Elmer Yaddof; maternal grandparents, Laverne and Deloris Rowson; step-grandparents, Roger and Shirley Frommelt and Sylvester "Scout" and Arlene Tebbe; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, a special friend, Jenifer Determan, and many other friends.

Devon was preceded in death by his great-grandparents.
