BELLEVUE, Iowa - Viola Ann Roeder, 97, formerly of Bellevue, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at Northbrook Manor, Cedar Rapids.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellevue, with the Rev. Stephen Meyer officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Bellevue. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at Kingery-Lemke Funeral Home, Bellevue.

She was born on March 28, 1912, in Bellevue, daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Herrig) Till. She married Clarence Roeder on Oct. 9, 1933, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellevue; he preceded her in death in November of 1989.

She was employed at the Big D Grocery Store in Bellevue for 10 years prior to her retirement in 1976. Viola enjoyed playing bingo, bridge and visiting casinos.

Surviving are her children, Marcia (Elmer) Peters. of Bettendorf, C.J. (Marianne) Roeder, of Washington Township, Mich., Randall (Nancy) Roeder, of Cedar Rapids, and Marla Jane (Stacy) Dalton, of Newport, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, Glen (Heather) and Brad Peters, Margo (Tom) Weih, Tracy (Jason) Maikrzek, Debbie (Gregg) Jordan, Rebecca (Marco) Ireland, Michael Squier, Kristina and Jennifer Roeder; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Brian; four brothers, Frank, Wilfred, Joseph and Elmer Till; and four sisters, Clara Sieverding, Marcella Ernst, Margaret Doland and Mary Louise Till.
