George Kinmonth
(December 28, 1932 - October 29, 2010)

George D. Kinmonth, 77, of Bellevue, IA died Friday, October 29th at home surrounded by his family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, November 2, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellevue. Visitation for George will be held from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue and again Tuesday morning after 9:00 until procession to the church.

George was born December 28, 1932 in Bellevue, IA son of Donald "Budd" Kinmonth and Marie (Beeler) Kinmonth.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean conflict.

He married Ruth (Von Lehmden) on October 1, 1960 at St. Raphael's Cathedral in Dubuque, IA.

George was employed at the former Dubuque Packing Company from 1958 to 1962. Later, he was employed at Savanna Army Depot until 1989 when he retired. He drove school bus for the Bellevue Community Schools and volunteered as a bus driver for the Marquette School system. He also was a volunteer for the Bellevue Ambulance Service. He was a member of the Bellevue American Legion and served as Commander from 1973-1974, and also was a member of the VFW.

George enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren attending their school activities and sporting events. He also enjoyed traveling and going to the casino. George cherished the memories of time he spent with special friends during morning gatherings.

George touched people's lives in unassuming ways with his sensitive heart and loving spirit.

Surviving are his wife Ruth of Bellevue and four children: Kimberly (Chris) Widseth of Omaha, NE, Kelly (Dennis) Schmidt of Maquoketa, IA, Kristi (Jon) Wall of Miles, IA, Kary (Kathy) Kinmonth of Grinnell, IA. He has nine grandchildren, Jared, Jordan, and Kylie Widseth, Keisha (Schmidt) Schroeder and Nakia Schmidt, Nathan and Nicholas Wall and Kyle and Kameron Kinmonth; one sister Greta (Richard) Dagitz, of Bellevue, IA, brothers in-law, Donald (Rose Ann) VonLehmden and Gilbert Knipper both of Dyersville, IA and one sister-in-law Velma Lynch of Manchester, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents.
