Dolores C. Herrig, 84, of 1548 Kehl Court, died Monday, June 5, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Columbkille's Catholic Church. Burial will be in the St. Donatus (Iowa) Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where there will be a wake service at 8 p.m.

She was born on Nov. 2, 1921, in La Motte, Iowa, daughter of Nicholas and Clara (Weber) Kremer. She married Harold Herrig on Aug. 7, 1946. They were married until his passing in 1988.

She was a homemaker and was actively involved in the family farm.

She was an active member at both St. Donatus Parish, and later St. Columbkille Parish. She was a volunteer at Stonehill Care Center as well as the Dubuque Mission.

She loved flowers and sewing.

She was a strong, faithful, humble, quiet person and served as mentor and mother to many.

Surviving are three sons, Dale (Regina) Herrig, of Roseville, Calif., and James Herrig and Charles (Diane) Herrig, both of Dubuque; three daughters, Mary Kay Godfrey, of St. Charles, Ill., Kathy (Chuck) Schwager, of Bellevue, Iowa, and Joyce (Paul) Crowe, of Geneva, Ill.; and 18 grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mark, in 1991; a brother, Donald Kremer; a son-in-law, Don Godfrey; and a brother-in-law, Leander Herrrig, on June 4, 2006.
