BELLEVUE, Iowa - Raymond J. Roling, 79, of 102 Market Court, Bellevue, died Thursday afternoon, Nov. 4, 1999, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellevue, with the Rev. Stephen Meyer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by American Legion Reveille Post 273 of Bellevue. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Kingery Funeral Home, Bellevue, where there will be a scripture service at 7 p.m.

Mr. Roling farmed until retiring in 1984.

He was born on April 29, 1920, in Bellevue, son of Joseph L. and Helena (Steichen) Roling. He married Rita M. Kilburg on April 24, 1947, in Andrew.

He graduated from St. Joseph's High School, Bellevue, in 1938. He was a member of American Legion Reveille Post 273 of Bellevue. He had served in the Army during World War II. He also was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellevue.

Surviving are his wife, Rita; a son, Ronald (Patricia) Roling, of Bellevue; three daughters, Barbara (Nicholas) Hoffmann, of Walnut, Bonnie (Tom) Bruck, of Zwingle, and Peggy (Tom) Manderscheid, of Maquoketa; 15 grandchildren; three sisters, Isabelle Stillmunkes and Lucille (John) Merkes, both of Dubuque, and Virginia Deppe, of Bellevue; and five brothers, Richard (Carol), Glen (Marcelleen) and Orville (Rosemary), all of Bellevue, Art, of Sabula, and Aloysius (Leona), of Peosta.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Vincent; and three sisters, Berneice Heim, Estelle Kilburg and Ida Herrig.
