Frank Post, 84, of 4153 Bluebird Drive, died Wednesday evening, Feb. 21, 2001, at home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Garden Mausoleum at Mount Calvary Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 6 of Dubuque. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where there will be a wake service at 3 p.m.

Mr. Post worked at Flexsteel Industries for 38 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1976.

He was born on March 24, 1916, in Galena, Ill., son of Charles M. and Louise (Knoebber) Post. He married Rose Deppe on April 21, 1941, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dubuque.

He graduated from Dubuque Senior High School. He was a World War II Army veteran serving as a military police officer in the Philippines. He was a member of Holy Ghost Parish and a former Holy Name Society member. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and in his later years he enjoyed writing poetry, listening to music and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Rose; sons, Ronald (Mary) Post, of Dubuque, Robert (Diane) Post, of Hastings, Minn., Dennis (Vicki) Post, of Dubuque, and Steven J. (Peggy) Post, of St. Donatus, Iowa; a daughter, Mrs. Linda (Steven) Otterbeck, of Dubuque; 11 grandchildren, Cindy and Sara Post, Eric, Scott and Suzanne Post, Bill, Paula and Branden Post, Holly, Hope and Troy Otterbeck; and great-grandchildren, Lucy, Laura, Tedi, Andy, Nick, Devon, Courtney, Carter and Landon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and twin grandchildren, Jamie and Lisa Otterbeck.

In lieu of flowers, a Frank Post Memorial Fund has been established.
