BELLEVUE, Iowa - Milton G. Deppe Sr., 97, of 105 N. Fifth St., Bellevue, died Thursday, April 12, 2001, at Mill Valley Care Center, Bellevue.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellevue, with the Rev. Stephen Meyer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. There will be no visitation. The Kingery Funeral Home, Bellevue, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Deppe was an independent businessman with ventures in sales in binoculars, surplus tanks and a convenience station.

He was born on July 9, 1903, in Bellevue, son of George and Mary (Wuerth) Deppe. He married Mary M. Horseley on Dec. 6, 1935, in Chicago; she died on April 27, 1996.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He enjoyed his houseboat on the Mississippi River.

Surviving are two sons, Milton (Karen) Deppe Jr., of Bellevue, and William (Loretta) Deppe, of Lincoln, N.H.; a daughter, Marianne (C.J.) Roeder, of Sterling Heights, Mich.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wilfred Deppe, of Bellevue.

He also was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a brother, Raymond; two sisters, Clara Deppe and Cecilia Townley.
