Mark A. Till was born on April 21, 1922, Bellevue, Iowa, son of John A. Till, Sr. and Gertrude (Reddin) Till. He attended Jackson County schools. He married Leona Haximeier on November 28, 1946 in St. Donatus, Iowa. He worked in the foundry at John Deere Works in Dubuque, retiring in 1981, after 39 years. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Otter Creek. In earlier years, he was a volunteer for the La Motte Fire Department and was a La Motte city councilman.

Mark is survived by his wife, Leona Till, of La Motte, his children, Paul (Sharon) Till, of Bellevue, Suzie (Donnie) Koenig, of La Motte, Sam (Maria) Till, Moline, Illinois, Alan Till, of Maquoketa, Sally (Bruce) Thole, of La Motte and Jan (Mark) Wagner, of La Motte; 16 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Robert Till and John (Dellene) Till, Jr, both of La Motte.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, one in infancy and Anthony Till.

Mark A. Till, 86, of La Motte died Friday, April 25, 2008, at Mill Valley Care Center in Bellevue, Iowa, following a brief illness.
