Deceased Name: Ardis M. Steines

CUBA CITY, Wis. - Ardis M. Steines, 77, of Cuba City, died Friday, May 29, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, at St. Rose of Lima Church, Cuba City, with the Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 1, at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cuba City, where the parish rosary will be recited at 1:45 p.m. Friends also may call from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

She was born on Sept. 11, 1931, in Springbrook, Iowa, daughter of Walter and Helen (Gonner) Budde. She married Odilo Steines on Sept. 19, 1949.

Ardis was a faith filled person. She loved spending the holidays and special occasions with her family whom she was very proud of. Ardis enjoyed traveling, crocheting, playing bingo, cards and the casino slots.

Surviving are her husband, Odilo; four daughters, Lois (Merrell) Casper, of Cuba City, Doris Steines, of San Antonio, Texas, Jane (Jim) Munson, of Dickeyville, and Dee (Steve) Kalmes, of Springville, Iowa; two sons, Don (Cathy) Steines, of Menominee, Ill., and Jim (Sharon) Steines, of Platteville; two sisters, Imelda Schlarmann and Joyce Kramer, both of Dubuque; a special friend, Dori Johnson, of San Antonio; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Helen; four brothers, Marvin, Vernon, Eldon and Merrell; and three sisters, Ruth, Marilyn and Evelyn.
