David J. Gonner, 65, of 100 N. Sixth St., Bellevue, died Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 21, 2003, at his home of cancer. Services - 10:30 a.m. Friday, St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellevue, by the Rev. Stephen Meyer. Burial - church cemetery, with military rites by the Bellevue American Legion Reveille Post 273. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Kingery Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bellevue.

Survivors include his wife, Karen; two daughters, Sherri (Mark) Sieverding of Bellevue, and Mary (Scott) Wegmann of Manchester; three sons, Bruce (Kimberly) of Manchester, Charles of Dubuque, and Daniel of North Liberty; 10 grandchildren; three sisters, Kathleen (Jim) Cloos of Springbrook, Norma (Tom) Crouch of Maquoketa and Glenna (Mark) Kueter of Dubuque; and two brothers, Milton (Betty) of Andrew and Merlin (Marcelline) of Lyndon, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lloyd.

Mr. Gonner graduated from St. Joseph's High School in 1956. He served with the United States Marine Corps from 1956 through 1958. He married Karen Deppe on Nov. 9, 1963, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Springbrook, Iowa. David was a federal food inspector, retiring in 2000. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and The Bellevue Knights of Columbus Council No. 1354. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards and watching Notre Dame football and Chicago Cubs baseball.
