Following is from the Cedar Rapids Gazette, Sunday, August 23, 1936:
GEORGE BUZZA, MARION PIONEER, IS DEAD

George Buzza, 83, pioneer resident of Marion, city assessor there for 16 years and formerly in the implement business, died at the Masonic sanatorium in Bettendorf Saturday after a long illness. The body will be brought to Marion and funeral services will be announced later.

Mr. Buzza was born in Owen Sound, Ont., Jan. 19, 1853. He came to the Untied States at the age of 22 and farmed near Miles where he was married to Sophia Winsor. In 1800 (?) he came to Marion where Mrs. Buzza died in 1929. Surviving are five children: George of Hollywood, Mary of Marion, Frank of Owen Sound, Mrs. Mildred Rice of Seattle Heights and Mrs. Amber Travis of Marion. There are two sisters in Owen Sound.

Mr. Buzza was a prominent democrat and member of Masonic lodge No. 6 of Marion.
