Olga Scheckel, 83, of Springbrook, died Saturday afternoon, March 1, 1997, at her home.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 5 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Springbrook, with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation was held from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 4 at the Kingery Funeral Home in Bellevue, where there was rosary held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation was also held after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Mrs. Scheckel was born March 7, 1913 in Springbrook to John and Catherine Huertz Clasen.

She married Florian Scheckel Nov. 16, 1937 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Springbrook.

She farmed with her husband in the Springbrook area, until retiring in 1984 to Springbrook.

She attended Sts. Peter and Paul School in Springbrook. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish and was active in church and community activities.

She was also a member of the Springbrook Senior Citizens.

Survivors include her husband, Florian of Springbrook; two sons, Mahlon (and Mary) Scheckel and David Scheckel, both of Springbrook; two daughters, Saverna (Mrs. Eugene) Stemper of Caledonia, Minn., and Leanna (Mrs. Loras L.) Kilburg of Spragueville; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grand-children.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
