William Bradley was born on Nov. 10, 1855, and reared to young manhood near Laudeville, Dubuque county, Iowa, and died at Zwingle, on Monday morning, Jan. 8, 1917.
He was the son of the late Christopher and Anna Bradley, pioneer settlers of Dubuque county.
On March 15, 1883 he was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Denlinger, who with one son, Ray of Rembrandt, and three daughters, Mrs. Bernice Ahlers of Lamotte, Mrs. Ada McCarthy of Maquoketa and Mrs. Lola Chesterman of Zwingle mourn his death, also three sisters, Miss Sara Bradley, Mrs. Christina Dennis and Mrs. Bessie Maury all of Dubuque and two brothers, Cornelius of Zwingle and Christopher of Dubuque.
His entire life was passed in Dubuque county in the community of Zwingle where his integrity and bountiful good nature endeared him to his family and a large circle of friends and acquaintances.
He was a member of the Harmony Reformed church of Zwingle and practiced its teachings earnestly, always taking an active interest in all matters pertaining to his church. Stricken New Years evening with an acute attack of pneumonia his condition became more serious despite all that science and loving ministrations could do until Jan. 8 at 3 a.m. when he peacefully passed to his Redeemer.
The funeral was held Wednesday morning at10:30 from the home to Harmony Reformed church, Rev. J. M. Newgard conducting the service. –Lamotte News
