A Green Island Death

Sophia Krumviede, wife of August Krumviede, a well known farmer, died about ten o’clock last Friday at the family home about a mile west of Green Island, following a lingering illness of several months duration. Her illness was not considered very serious at first but the disease refused to succumb to treatment and despite the efforts of the best medical skill her condition gradually became worse until the end when she passed away peacefully as if sinking into a deep sleep.

A sad coincidence in connection with the death of Mrs. Krumviede was the fact of her husband being confined to his bed with a couple of fractured ribs which he sustained that morning in a fall on the ice. Thus being deprived from attending the bedside of his loved one in her last hour, was sad beyond measure. – Preston Times.
