Helen Felten

Services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5 at W. G. Carson & Son Funeral Home, Maquoketa for Helen E. Felten, 87, of Maquoketa, who died Sunday, Aug. 3 at Jackson County Public Hospital.

The Rev. Richard Eis of United Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Visitation was 4 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Felten was born May 27, 1899 in Clinton County to Oly and Bertha Wing Walrod. She married Herman W. Felten Oct. 22, 1924 in Davenport.

She was a schoolteacher and housewife. She was a member of Pope Rebecca Lodge, Jackson County Retired Teachers Association and Senior Citizens Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Leila) Orr of Marshalltown; Mrs. Gale (Donna) Stickley of Maquoketa; four sons, William of LaMotte; Lyle and Rex, both of Maquoketa; Donald of Elkhorn, Wis.; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Glen (Mildred) Woods of Maquoketa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
