Leona T. Michels, 80, of Spragueville died Monday, July 28 in Finley Hospital, Dubuque. Funeral services were held Thursday, July 31 in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Springbrook, with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation and a rosary service were held Wednesday, July 30 in Miller Funeral Home, Preston.

Mrs. Michels was born Nov. 29, 1905 in Springbrook, to Henry and Margaret Kilburg Tebbe. She married John Michels on Oct. 6, 1925. The couple farmed near Spragueville until 1974 when they moved to Spragueville. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Preston.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Kermit (Gladys) Deppe of Springbrook; four sons, Leslie of Savanna, Ill., John Jr. And Jerry, both of Spragueville, and Wayne of Preston; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Rose Zeimet of Bellevue, and a brother, Ted of Del Rapids, S. D.

She was preceded in death by a son, four sisters, and three brothers.
