July 21, 1933E. F. Weeman, Former Maquoketan Dies in Kansas
Word was received here Thursday morning from Ft. Scott, Kans., advising friends of the death of E. F. Weeman, Civil war veteran and former Maquoketan. The message further stated that the body, accompanied by the son George Weeman and wife, would arrive in this city Friday morning and that the funeral service will be held from the Buchner chapel Friday afternoon, the committal service to be in charge of the local American Legion post. Burial will be made in Mt. Hope cemetery.
For many years, Mr. Weeman conducted a blacksmith shop in Maquoketa, moving to Kansas several years ago. He has since made his home in that state.
