DIED-

COLLINS- After a long and useful life, Mrs. Daniel Collins, aged 81 years, passed away at the home of her son, Dennis Collins in Garryowen, Feb. 2nd. The immediate cause of death was the infirmities of old age. Mrs. Collins was born in County Kerry, Ireland in 1826, and came to the United States in 1849, settling in the city of Dubuque, where in the year 1853 she was married to Daniel Collins. Her husband preceded her to the grave, having departed this life in 1895. Mrs. Collins was a good woman, an indulgent mother, and had many friends who will regret to hear of her demise. She passed away fortified by the last rites of the Catholic Church, of which she was a faithful and consistent member. Deceased is survived by the following seven children: Dennis Collins on the homestead in Garryowen; Mrs. Michael Foley of Garryowen; Mrs. James McCarthy of Cascade; Mrs. J. C. Martin of Missouri Valley, Iowa; Thomas Collins of Anaconda, Montana; Daniel Collins of Butte, Montana. One child, Mary, died in infancy. The funeral was held Monday morning at St. Patrick’s church, Garryowen, at 10:30 o’clock.
