John McKinney died in the county insane asylum last Sunday. He had been hopelessly demented for many years. He discovered lead ore in what was called New California diggings, over 25 years ago, which made him quite wealthy. For 15 years he has been insane and the expense of maintaining him has been constant and immense, yet the family is still left in comfortable circumstances. The deceased leaves a wife and six children behind him. His funeral took place Tuesday. His remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery near this city – Leader.
