Text: "Mrs. Peter McAninch passed away at her home in this city at 5:30 o'clock this morning following a sudden acute attack of uremic poisoning with which she was stricken only twelve hours prior to her death. Yesterday she was about her household duties as usual. In the afternoon she turned out a big baking and a small washing. Shortly after five o'clock while she was in the storm house at the rear of the kitchen she suddenly sank to the floor in an unconscious condition. Mr. McAninch was in the house and saw her fall and rushed to her assistance. Medical aid was at once summoned and everything was done which human aid could accomplish in an effort to stay the hand of death but all to no avail and she passed away this morning without ever regaining consciousness. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Baptist church in this city. Rev. C. W. Heady, pastor of the church, will conduct the services. Interment will be made here. In 1887 they came to Sioux County and located on their fine farm five miles northeast of Hawarden, where they continued to reside until three years ago when they purchased a home in Hawarden and retired from the strenuous activities of farm life. McAninch and Mrs. Elmer [Alice] Abbey, all of Hawarden, and one step-son, Sherman McAninch, also of Hawarden.
