Another death which we are pained to report is that of grandma Stuart, mother of ex-Senator L. W. Stuart, who passed away on last Thursday, the 3d inst. Mrs. Stuart was 85 years of age and was quite hale and hearty up till about five years ago, at which time she was stricken with a paralytic stroke, which made her a prisoner to her own room till the time of her death. A few weeks ago she lost all use of her arms and was as helpless as a child and her feebleness grew worse, till death claimed her as a victim. Mrs. Stuart was the mother of five children, four boys and one daughter. Lewis and Jack only survive her. Funeral services were held at the home of her son, Hon. L. W. Stuart, where she had lived for seven years. Rev. Hannah preached the funeral services and she was laid to rest in the Monmouth burying ground two days following.
