Meta Beck

Funeral services for Mrs. Meta Beck, 90 of Maquoketa, were held Monday, Jan. 27, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa with the Reverend Harold Kumpf, church pastor, officiating, Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Mrs. Beck died Friday, Jan. 24, at the Jackson County Public Hospital.

She was born Sept. 16, 1884 in Clinton County to Christian and Hanna Jensen Petersen. On June 6, 1906 she married Gottlibe Beck in Preston.

Her survivors include her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Harvey (Dorothy) Gruenwald, Delmar, and Mrs. Eleanor Lawrence, Clinton; two sons, Howard and Glen, both of Maquoketa; one brother, Hans Petersen, Parker, S. D.; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence ( Mary) Andersen, Plano, Ill., and Mrs. Harry (Anna) Eckhoff, Hurly, S. D.; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Beck was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.

Carson Funeral Home, Maquoketa, was in charge of the arrangements.
