Fred Duhme

Funeral services for Fred Duhme, 89 of Maquoketa, retired farmer, will be held Thursday, Feb. 27, at 2 p.m. at the Haylock-O’Hara Funeral Home in Maquoketa. The Reverend Lawrence Beals of the Maquoketa United Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Duhme died Monday night, Feb. 24, at the Jackson County Public Hospital.

He was born Dec. 16, 1885 in Jackson County to Herman and Anna Minning Duhme. On June 30, 1915 he married Mary Adeline Campbell in Maquoketa.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Arlene) Tegmeier, Morristown, Minn., Mrs. Bernard (Helen) Spratt, Oelwein, and Mrs. Daniel (Thelma) Blatt, Takoma, Wash.; seven sons, Harold, Omaha, Nebr., Raymond, LaMotte, Elmer, Marion, Albert, Kenneth and Chester, all of Maquoketa, and Melvin, Zwingle; one sister, Mrs. Emma Mann, Iowa City; a brother, Frank, Spragueville; 42 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Duhme was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister, and three brothers.
