Lee Coakley

Lee C. Coakley, 92, of Otter Creek, a retired farmer, died Thursday, Oct. 11, at Jackson County Public Hospital in Maquoketa.

Services were held Monday, Oct. 15, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church at Otter Creek with the Rev. Frank Houlihan officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Coakley was born March 3, 1892 to Dan Coakley and Margaret Cahill at Otter Creek. On Feb. 12, 1922 he married Ida McCarthy at Otter Creek.

He farmed most of his life at Otter Creek. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus at LaMotte.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Mary) Perrin of Bernard; one son, Tom of Maquoketa; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter, one grandchild, three sisters and one brother.

Haylock O’Hara & Kedley Funeral Home of Maquoketa handled arrangements.
