Msgr. Nicholas Cloos

Msgr. Nicholas Theodore Cloos, 79, of Munson Lake, Minn., former pastor of St. John the Baptist Church, Wyndmere, N.D., died Wednesday, Feb. 23 at a Fargo hospital.

Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28 at St. John's Church, Wyndmere, with Bishop Justin A. Driscoll as the chief officiant.
Visitation services were held Sunday afternoon at St. John's Church with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Pallbeareres were Robert Kuchera, Charles Lenz, David Goerger, Dick Klosterman, Alan Goeger and Mick Masheck.

Nicholas T. Cloos was born June 26, 1903 at Springbrook to Theodore and Rosa (Wiltchen) Cloos. He grew up and attended school in Springbrook. He received his classics, philosophy and theology degress at Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio.
He was ordained t the priesthood May 29, 1930 at Columbus.

He served as assistant pastor at Hankinson, N.D. from 1930-1931. He was pastor at Towner, N.D., 1931-1932; at Munich, N.D., 1932-1932; at Rugby, N.D., 1936-1970, and Wyndmere, 1970-1980.

Monsignor Nicholas is survived by five sisters, Sister M. Cleophas, Mt. Calvery, Wis., Sister M. Alexia, Mankato, Minn.; Mrs. Barbara Segwarth, Mrs. Catherine Cain, and Mrs. Lorraine Close of Dubuque; two brothers, Peter of Springbrook and John of Gilmore City.

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Cloos, Mr. and Mrs. James Pitts, James Cloos and Mark Cloos of Springbrook, attended the wake and funeral.
