The funeral for Fred A. Clark Sr., 50, of Mt. Carroll, formerly of Maquoketa, was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, at Mt. Carroll United Methodist Church. He died Saturday, May 21 (1983) in Sterling Community Hospital following a heart attack.

Bural was in Union Cemetery, Maquoketa.

He was born Jan. 25, 1933 in Newton to William and Pearl Hartman Clark. He married Alice Bentley June 3, 1962 in Maquoketa. He was a member of Mt. Carroll United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge. He was a vocal music school teacher for 21 years, retiring in 1978. At the time of his death, he was Mt. Carroll correspondant for the Clinton Harold.

Fred Clark was for many years a member of the German Band which appeared at the Jackson County Fair.

Survivors include his wife of Mt. Carroll; his mother of Victor, Ia.; a son, Fred Jr., and two daughters, Tasha and Lynnette, all at home.
three brothers, William of Louisville, Tex., James of Nora Springs adn Richard of Knoxville.

He was preceded in death byh his father and two brothers.
