DIED.

BUCHNER—Mr. Allen Buchner was born June 28, 1821, in the town of Dumphry, Ontario, Canada, and came to this country in 1843. He was a farmer by occupation and one of the pioneer settlers of Jackson county. In 1845 he married Miss Emily E. Furnish who survives him. He was the father of ten children, six of whom are living, who with the wife and mother, mourn the loss of a kind loving father and husband. His sons, R. H. and J. A. Buchner, live at Maquoketa, the rest of the children being scattered through the western country. He passed quietly away at five o’clock a. m., Feb. 14, at the home of his son, J. A. Buchner in this city. The cause of his demise was old age and general debility. The funeral will take place from the residence on Friday afternoon, the 16th inst., the Rev. F. M. Archer conducting the services and his remains will be laid to rest in Mt. Hope cemetery.
