Old Pioneer Dies

Henry Westphal, for thirty-four years a Preston citizen, and a part of that time actively engaged in the furniture business, died suddenly on Friday evening. Mr. Westphal had appeared in his usual health during the day and had spent some time in the garden. He had reached the advanced age of 80 years and while his death was a great shock to the family it is good to know that he passed out of this life without being confined to his bed for a long period of sickness. Mr. Westphal was a faithful member of the Lutheran church and will be remembered as one of the organizers of the Preston congregation and the builder of the first church. His was a well spent life and full of warm friendships. He leaves to mourn, his aged wife and three children, Charles, Mrs. George Myers and Theodore, also twelve grandchildren. – Preston Independent.
