ANDREW MAN DEAD
John Henry Hankemeier passed away at this home near Andrew Monday evening at 9:30 o'clock, his death following a three months' illness with dropsy.
Deceased was born September 20, 1846 in Germany, and was the son of Peter and Elizabeth Hankemeier. He came to America in 1874, and in 1880 came to Jackson county which had since been his home.
Mr. Hankemeier followed farming as an occupation and never married. He was a member of the Lutheran church and a man who enjoyed the confidence and esteem of all who knew him. He is survived by one brother, Chris, who resides in Indiana.
The funeral will be held Thursday at Andrew and the services will be conducted by Rev. Brodow, of the Lutheran Church.
