ELMER K. HUGHEY DIES

Elmer K. Hughey, a former resident, died at Regina, Canada, Sunday after a two weeks illness according to word received here Tuesday. Mrs. Hughey went to Regina and was at his bedside and will accompany the body to Bellevue arriving Friday. The funeral will be held Saturday from the John Dye funeral home and burial will be made in the Presbyterian cemetery.

He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Hughey and was born in Bellevue 82 years ago. For many years he was one of the prominent business men and was a member of the firm of Dorchester & Hughey, operating the saw mill, one of the leading industries in the by-gone days

His first wife, the former Josephine Strasser, and one son, Lester by that marriage, preceded him in death. He is survived by his widow, the former Miss Florence Strasser. He has lived in Canada for 20 years.
