Jennie Elizabeth Buck was born in Muskegan, Mich., June 13, 1869, and died Sunday, Aug. 23, at noon. She came with her parents to Iowa in 1875 and settled in the vicinity of Lost Nation where she has ever since resided, except the past summer which she spent in Michigan with her husband. She was happily married to Joshua Linney on February 8, 1888. She suffered much during the past seven weeks from blood poisoning which came from an injury quite a while ago. During her suffering her Christian character shone forth and she was patient and resigned until the final call came. She made a profession of religion and became a member of the Methodist church of Lost Nation last December. She was a faithful church member, a cheerful and helpful companion and wife, a dutiful daughter and sister, kind and sympathetic neighbor and had a host of friends. She leaves to mourn her early departure a sorrowing husband, and aged mother, two sisters, Marcia Wehry of Cedar Rapids and Nettie Atherton residing near Maquoketa, and brother John of Lewiston, Mich.

The funeral services were held at the Lost Nation Union church on Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 2:30 p.m. where a large concourse of people assembled to pay their sympathy to the bereaved family. Rev. D. F. Boomershine assisted by Rev. H. W. Wyatt officiated and burial was made in the Lost Nation cemetery.
