Funeral Services Held Sunday Afternoon for Charles Stoll

Funeral services for Chas. A. Stoll, 52, local tinner and furnace man for a number of years, were held Sunday afternoon at two o’clock at the Carson-Balster chapel with Rev. Harry D. Green, Methodist pastor, in charge. Pall bearers were Cecil Stoll, Carlyle Stoll, Phillips Stoll, George Stoll, Leonard Stoll and Russell Henry, nephews of the deceased. Interment was made in Mt. Hope cemetery.

Charles Alfred Stoll was born at Fulton, Iowa, on March 31, 1886, the son of Emil and Anna Stoll. In 1912 he was married to Mary Rochelle in Cambridge, Ill. For five years the home was made in Davenport and since that time has been in Maquoketa.

Besides the widow he is survived by six children who mourn his loss, namely Mrs. Wayne Fugate of Clinton; Mrs. George Bleadorn and Mrs. Merlin Davenport of Maquoketa; Mrs. Edward Ebel of Chicago, Ill., and Catherine and Charles at home. There are also three sisters and two brothers surviving, Mrs. Louise McComb, Mrs. Howard Bodkin, Mrs. Frank Henry and Anthony Stoll of Maquoketa, and John Stoll of Preston. Two brothers and one sister have preceded their brother in death. There are also two grandchildren among the survivors. Mr. Stoll passed away at the LeRoy hospital at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, March 23, illness having claimed his strength for many weeks.

Among the out of town relatives attending the final rites where Edith Stoll and Mrs. Jake Bierline of Lamoni, Ia.; Mrs. Carl Riggsegger of Wellman, Ia.; Mrs. Edward Ebel of Chicago, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. John Stoll and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Stoll of Preston; Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Stoll of Miles and Mrs. Wayne Fugate of Clinton.
