Robert K. Luckey, 84, of Bellevue, died on Sunday evening, June 17, 2007, at home in Bellevue.
A celebration of his life was held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 22, 2007, from the Carson & Son Funeral and Cremation Service in Maquoketa.
A memorial visitation was held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2007, from the funeral home.
Burial was in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa.
Mr. Luckey was born on November 11, 1922 in Hurstville to Harry B. and Edna H. Hurst Luckey.
He graduated from Maquoketa High School and then attended Maquoketa Junior Colege.
He then enlisted in the Army Air Corps serving his county during World War II and earning an honorable discharge.
He married Mary E. Meyers on March 19, 1943 in Maquoketa. She preceded him in death on April 14, 2001.
Robert and Mary had first farmed in the Spragueville area from 1950 to 1965, moving to Clinton.
While in Clinton, Robert worked for J.I. Case and Hawkeye Chemical. He then became employed as a senior safety coordinator for C.F. Braun, and the moved and traveled all over the United States.
They had lived and worked in Delaware, New Jersey, Ohio, Texas, Illinois and California.
From 1983 to 1987, they moved overseas and were located in Kuwait. They retired to Bellevue in 1987.
He was a member of the Bellevue Masonic Lodge 51 AF & AM and the Order of the Eastern Star. He also was a Scottish Rite 32nd Degree Mason.
Survivors include his children Sally K. (Mrs. Duane) Marvin of Preston and Robert C. & Gloria Luckey of Pueblo, Colorado; brother, William & Mary Luckey of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; thee grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Robert C. Luckey, Jr.
Memorials may be directed to Heartland Hospital of Dubuque.
