HERALD-LEADER, THURSDAY, JUNE 21, 2007

Marcellene L. Gonner, 72, of East Dubuque and formerly of Springbrook, died Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Springbrook. Father Phillip Schmitt and Father James Heiar officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Visitation was on Friday from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Kingery-Lemke Funeral Home in Bellevue and again on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Marcellene was born February 18, 1935 in LaMotte, to Anthony J. and Lucille Entringer Till. She married Merlin Gonner on April 7, 1956 at the St. John Catholic Church in Andrew. He survives. Marcellene was a postmaster fot the United States Post Office in Lyndon, Illinois, retiring in 2004. She also had been a clerk and carrier for the Maquoketa Post Office. She had worked at Jackson State Bank and Dostal-Watters Implement both in Maquoketa.

Survivors include her husband , Merlin three sons and one daughter; Stanly & Tamara Gonner, Dubuque, Karen & Joel Sturm, Bellevue, Duane & Tina Gonner, Asbury and John & Jacqueline Gonner, Dubuque; 13 grandchildren; one great granddaughter; three brothers, Ronald & Rosemary Till, Andrew, Eugene & Lek Till, Aurora, Colorado, Roger & Helen Till, Bellevue and Carol & Mike Clark, Maquoketa; one sister-in-law, Jean Till, Delmar.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Aloysius Till.

Kingery-Lemke Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Bellevue was in charge of the arrangements.
