Thursday morning Dec. 29, 1892, at Chicago, of peritonitis, Mrs. I. N. Ward passed peacefully from this vale of tears to her home above. Mrs. Ward was born in Sarnia, Canada, Dec. 30, 1824, and with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Taylor, removed to Minnesota in 1856, where she has since lived, her home at the time of her death being in Minneapolis. She was a devoted member of Plymouth Congregational church of that city, and was a great lover of missionary work, taking special interest in the welfare and promotion of the Y.P.S.C.E. Last August she came to this city to visit her sister, Mrs. S. C. Gregory, and spent about two months here, during which she made many warm friends. She then went to Chicago, and while there was stricken with the disease which caused her death. The remains were brought to this city for burial on last Friday morning. The funeral took place Saturday at 2 p.m., from the home of Mr. S. C. Gregory. Rev. J. G. Van Ness, of Marion, of whose Bible class she was a beloved member while here, preached the funeral sermon. She was a lady of noble character, possessing the highest Christian character, and of whom it might truthfully be said, none knew her but to love and respect her.
