Obituary

Anna Katharine Peters was born in Holstein, Germany, Nov. 15, 1840. At the age of 23 years she was united in marriage to Christopher Erp and three days later, came to Clinton county, Iowa, to make the new home on a farm. In 1909 she with her husband retired from active farm life and then came to Maquoketa, which place has since been her residence.

To this union was born one son who passed away in infancy. The husband preceded her in death ten years ago.

The deceased had been a patient sufferer, tho bedridden for the past two years, during which time she has been lovingly cared for by her foster daughter, Mrs. Emma Becker, at whose home she passed peacefully away Friday, January 21, 1927, at the age of 36 years, 2 months and 6 days.

Those left to mourn her loss are her daughter, Mrs. Emma Becker, two sisters, Mrs. Dora Nichols of Lyons, Ia., and Mrs. Freda Hulduff of Dennison, Ia., and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Becker, on Monday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. F. C. Worcester of the Methodist Episcopal church. Interment was in the Erp lot in Mt. Hope cemetery.
