John G. Beck-
Passed away at his home in Andrew Monday afternoon at 4 o’clock from a stroke of apoplexy. He was born in Dettin, Wortenburg, Germany, August 9, 1835, and came to this country in 1864, accompanied by his wife and daughter. They came direct to this county and located east of the city and resided there a number of years and moved to Andrew some 24 years ago. He leaves a wife and six children to mourn his departure, namely Mrs. N. J. Rankin of this city, Mrs. C. H. Froeschelle, Mrs. Pauline Meyer, Mrs. Fred Beck, Davenport, Iowa; Mr. Will Beck, St. Louis and Mrs. Anna Ihrig residing near Andrew. The funeral services were held in the Lutheran church today(Wednesday), at 2 p. m., Rev. Adix officiating. Interment was made in Andrew cemetery.
