OBITUARY

Died on the 9th of March, of congestion of lungs, at Mr. James Merphy's near the Town of Sabula, Jackson County, Iowa. John Davis, first son of J. K. and Elizabeth Millard-aged 19 years, eight months and six days. He was apparently in good health, and ten days after following his sister Charity to the grave, his remains were consigned to the silent tomb.
He was taken sick on Sunday-on Monday he was worse and on Tuesday worse still, and on Wednesdaym at half past 8 o'clock A. M. he died.
Truly in the midst of life we are in death.
