Dr. Gideon C. Ellis-

Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday at Carson Balster funeral home for Dr. Gideon C. Ellis, 67, who died here suddenly at his home Tuesday evening.

Dr. Ellis, a son of Dr. and Mrs. Gideon Ellis, was born in Maquoketa on November 5, 1880. He attended Maquoketa schools and the University of Iowa, graduating in 1903. He first practiced the dental profession at Bellevue, later moving to Maquoketa where he was associated with a brother, Dr. J. B. Ellis. He practiced dentistry in Maquoketa for more than 40 years.

He was married in 1906 to Miss Louise Swigart of Maquoketa, who with two children, Donn of Maquoketa and Jeannette Kurt of Detroit, Michigan, survive. He is also survived by two grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. F. C. Miller of Maquoketa. Several brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
