Dies at Independence

BERNARD – The funeral of Patrick H. Russell, 76, of Bernard, who passed away Sunday morning at Independence, Iowa, following a long illness, was held from the Bennett and Ashworth funeral home in Dubuque to St. Patrick’s church at No. Garryowen, Tuesday morning. The Rev. Patrick Malone, pastor, celebrated the requiem mass, and officiated at burial services in St. Patrick’s cemetery nearby. Pall bearers were William McCarthy, Mose McDonnell, William Dunn, William Dwyer, William Driscoll and Louis Melloy.

The deceased is survived by one sister, Mrs. M. L. Donovan of Bernard, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Russell, four brothers and two sisters.
