Rites Held Sunday at Emeline for Mrs. Alice Robbins

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Emeline church for Mrs. Alice Robbins, 71, of Emeline, who passed away Wednesday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clifford Ralston. Rev. Henry F. Mueller, pastor of the Lutheran church, officiated and interment was made in the Hickory Grove cemetery.

Alice Gilberth Robbins was born on July 15, 1869, a daughter of Robert and Jane Iron Gilberth, in Jackson county. She was united in marriage on Dec. 19. 1886, to J. T. Beeks, who preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 1918. She was married to John Robbins on April 5, 1903 and he passed away in September, 1936.

Surviving are eight children, Mrs. Cora Beebe of Bain, Minn.; John C. Beeks of Monticello; Chas. O. Beeks, Mrs. Gladys Schlimmer, Miss Betty Robbins and Clinton A. Beeks of Davenport, Mrs. Nettie Gardner of Chicago, Ill.; and Mrs. Tillie Ralston of Baldwin; also a step daughter, Mrs. John Hoffman of Baldwin.

Preceding her in death were three sons, Wm. Rufus and Jake Beeks, a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Chritson and an infant child.

Relatives from a distance attending the funeral services were Mrs. Cora Beebe of Bain, Minnesota; John C. Beeks of Monticello; Mrs. Nettie Gardner and son, Duane, of Chicago, Ill; Chas O. Beeks. Mrs. Gladys Schlimmer and Clinton A. Beeks of Davenport.
