Mrs. William Oake, after a long and painful illness, passed quietly away at her home in this city, on Monday last, at the advanced age of 79 years. Funeral services were held Wednesday and the remains interred in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. William McCloy, of near Riggs, were in the city Wednesday to attend the funeral of their old friend Mrs. William Oake, with whom they had been acquainted nearly half a century and underwent the hardships of pioneer days in Jackson and Clinton counties.
