Mrs. A. W. Day Dead
Aged and Respected Resident of
This City Passed Away Sunday Evening.

The death of Mrs. A. W. Day, which occurred at her home in this city Sunday evening, was a shock to our citizens who were not aware of the fact that she was dangerously ill. Mrs. Day has been in poor health for a number of years and Sunday she complained of severe pains in the region of the heart. Medical assistance and her children were summoned, but in spite of all earthly help she passed away at 8:30 p.m. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the M. E. church, Rev. T. H. Sheckler delivering an eloquent discourse and remains were laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery.

Catharine Each was born in London, England, June 16, 1831 and came to America in 1849, landing in Sabula on March 16th. On November 6, 1851, she was united in marriage to Aaron W. Day at Bellevue. The remainder of Mrs. Day’s life was spent in this city and on a farm in Iowa township. On Feb. 10, 1887, her husband died and she was left with two children. S. E. Day, and Mrs. J. L. Kimbell, both of this city, to mourn his loss. Since his death she has resided in this city and during her past years of sickness she has been a patient sufferer. Mrs. Day joined the M. E. church many years ago and has always lived a model Christian life. She was an extremely kind hearted woman and her demise is mourned not only by the relatives, but by every neighbor and acquaintance. Besides her two children, she leaves two sisters, Mrs. Roof of this city, and Mrs. Balme of England, and one brother, Jno. Each of Louisiana.
