RHODES – At her home on North Main street, Saturday, Aug. 7, 1897, at about 7 o’clock a.m., the spirit of Mrs. Harriet Eliza Rhodes passed from earthly cares.

Mrs. Rhodes had been afflicted with lung trouble for several years and during the last few months had grown gradually weaker until death released her. Harriet Eliza Barnes was born at Waverly, N. Besides three sisters, she leaves three sons and one daughter; Frank, Harry, Bruce and Clare to mourn her death. The funeral was held Monday forenoon at St. Marks Episcopal church, rev. Geo. A. Whitney officiating and the remains laid to rest in Mt. Hope cemetery.
